Companies like Lexus and Hendo have shown off their hoverboards, and a limited run of Pepsi Perfect is forthcoming, but we’re still without Nike Mag sneakers with power laces, self-drying jackets, and the latest fashion trends do not involve rainbow-colored reflective hats and jeans with inside out pockets.
Yes, the future of 2015 looks differently than it does on screen. So how will Doc and Marty react when they get to the real future? Back to the 2015 Future, produced by Ricky Dean Logan who played Griff’s gang member "Data" in Part II, has the answer.
Marty McFly (Tyler Dunivan) is stranded 30 years in the future. Something still has to be done to save his child, this time, in order to repair the DeLorean time machine and rescue his missing girlfriend Jennifer. Fans of the franchise will notice several locations, including Courthouse Square on the Universal backlot and the Gamble House, the where exterior shots were taken for Doc Brown’s house in the trilogy.
Back to the 2015 Future will have its world premiere at the We’re Going Back fan celebration in Los Angeles this week. Logan is joined on screen with Claudia Wells ("Jennifer Parker" in the series’ first installment), Don Fullilove ("Goldie Wilson"), and Darlene Vogel (Griff’s gang member "Spike" in Part II), who all appear in special cameos.
“Our film is a tribute to the fans of the trilogy,” Logan says. “We couldn’t think of a better place to premiere our short film than where all the fans will be on 'Future Day.'”
